Got my new group of kiddos this week and it went amazingly well! They are a cute little bunch and I think we're going to have a great year! We had a fun first week of school with our pirate activities (goes along with my beach theme this year). So we dressed up like pirates and got pirate names like One Eyed Hunter and Sea Legs Yanira. We even went on a treasure hunt to tour the school so that we don't get lost in our new big building.
It started off with a clue...
So we put on our eye patches and practiced our pirate talk "arghhhh!"
and what do you know... it was Mr. Nellis (my boss) hiding the treasure in his office. He said we would have to WALK THE PLANK! but luckily I talked him into sharing the treasure (chocolate gold coins!!! yummy :)
